Manish Thakur is a strategic advisor to USINPAC on the security relationship between the United States and the Indian subcontinent. He has spent much of the past 20 years in international finance and real estate, having lived and worked in the New York, London and Hong Kong. In his various roles at such financial services firms as Merrill Lynch, SG Cowen Securities, and HSBC, Mr. Thakur has worked on corporate finance assignments as far afield as Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, Mexico, India, Australia, Britain, and the United States. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer of a global communications venture backed by the Boeing Company. Most recently, Mr. Thakur was Managing Partner of Hudson Fairfax Group, a New York-based investment firm focused on India.
During his career, Mr. Thakur has gained particular perspective on global security issues having spent time with representatives from the government, military, education and corporate sectors in South East Asia, India, the Middle East, Pakistan, China and Taiwan.
Mr. Thakur holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Economics from the University of London and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York.
