January 20, Washington D.C.: The U.S. India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) welcomes the visit of envoy Marc Grossman from the U.S. on his special visit to India. On this visit, Mr. Grossman is expected to discuss India’s future role in Afghanistan.
India’s has provided more than $2 billion in aid to Afghanistan and it plans to play a larger role in training Afghan troops and security forces.
Mr. Sanjay Puri, President, USINPAC commented, “Mr. Grossman’s visit confirms the deepening relationships between the U.S. and India. As the U.S. draws down its troops in Afghanistan, India will need to figure in the future of the region especially in matters of security that impact U.S. and India.”
